If you’re in the EU, please order by 6th December 2024 – it’s possible I may not be able to send orders to you after that point, due to new regulations.
GPSR Regulations
On 13th December, new GPSR regulations start that make it very difficult for small businesses to send orders to the EU. There’s a lot of confusion and ambiguity about the new rules and how things will work exactly. There’s a good (and understandable!) summary here on Folksy.
It’s possible I may not be able to take any orders from the EU at all any more.
Obviously this is a huge blow to myself and other small businesses that don’t have an office in the EU, or a department to handle compliance documentation, or the capacity to cover the cost of what’s required.
I’m looking into options…
I’m currently looking into what the options are. There are companies that help you comply with the new regulations, but they cost several hundreds of pounds – some are even charging hundreds per product.
I *think* I’ve found one that’s semi-reasonable (“only” several hundred ££ per year, flat rate), but I’m still looking into it.
I send many orders to the EU every week, and I’d hate for some of you to not be able to have my designs and books just because of this.
Please order soon, just in case!
So if you’re in the EU and there’s anything you’ve been meaning to get from my shop, please order soon! They’re recommending to send items before 6th December 2024 to make sure they arrive safely before the new rules start.
EU: Order on Etsy
Finally, if you’re in the EU, please order on Etsy (because of other regulations that started a few years ago…!) – you’ll get your order quicker, without any customs charges. It comes through to me just the same:
