Collaboration with Tofu Cute
I’m so excited to finally show you a special collaboration I’ve been working on secretly over the last few months!
We’ve designed a tea towel and snack trays to celebrate Tofu Cute’s 15th anniversary. They all feature original characters from both Cakes with Faces and Tofu Cute – don’t they look adorable together?!
Tofu Cute
Tofu Cute is the UK’s cutest shop, with Japanese sweets, kawaii plushies, stationery and accessories. They have an online shop, a store in Portsmouth and they often pop-up at events.
I’ve known them for years from comic con – there’ve been times we’ve been neighbours, and they’re just as lovely as you’d expect from their kawaii outlook!
I’ve collaborated with them in the past to bring you the Hanami Party Backpack and the Mini Guide to Kawaii Tokyo, so it’s great to work with them again.
UFO Catcher Tea Towel
First up is the UFO catcher tea towel, with our characters having fun in a Japanese style UFO catcher. You know how much I love arcades in Japan. Even if I’m terrible at claw machine, they’re always so much fun!
The tea towel’s printed on ethically produced cotton, and it’s a hardwearing print in kawaii pink. Don’t be scared to use it – I’ve been “testing” the other tea towels by using them in my own kitchen for years and they’ve been fine, even after many washes!
Snack Trays
We’ve also designed three cute snack trays, for the most important time of day: snack time! They’re the perfect size for a mug and cookies.
You can also use them as a trinket tray, to keep your accessories, rings and jewellery safe, or for coins, keys or your phone.
Blue UFO Catcher
The characters are having fun together inside a UFO catcher. Everyone’s here: Panda-chan, Hamanote Line, Tofu-kun, Godzilla, Hoppy and many more!
Pink Kawaii Arcade
A super kawaii design with three claw machines at the arcade, with stars, rainbows and sparkles. It’s magical!
Purple Sweet Dreams
A dreamy pattern of Japanese sweets and snacks. Can you spot your favourites? There’s dango, Pocky, ramune, kakigori and even a strawberry sando (with a face of course!).
