The guide is a soft cover, A5 size mini book. It has 56 colourful pages, full of photos, illustrations, recommendations and step by step guides with practical information eg how to rent a kimono.
Collaboration with Tofu Cute
The guide’s a collaboration between Cakes with Faces and Tofu Cute. We’ve both contributed our recommendations, stories, photos and favourite places.
Tofu Cute have an online shop based in the UK, with the cutest range of kawaii goods, including plushies, Japanese snacks and adorable stationery. They’ve been running for over a decade, and are Cakes with Faces’ long term friends – we’ve even been neighbours with them at comic con several times! We collaborated before to create the Hanami Party backpack, which features both our characters.
The team are kawaii experts who live and breathe cuteness! It was amazing to work with them to produce this guide – you can trust that we’re bringing you the very best that Tokyo has to offer. You won’t miss anything!

Kawaii Tokyo
The guide is all about Tokyo, because that’s where most people go in Japan. Even if you’re only going to Tokyo, you’ll be able to visit all the places in the guide easily. It really is the capital of kawaii, with so many cute shops, themed cafes and kawaii characters all around.
