NEO Awards 2017
The NEO Awards are by NEO magazine, the UK’s anime, manga and asian pop culture magazine. They feature and review UK releases of anime and manga, as well as asian movies and Japanese games, along with drawing and culture/lifestyle articles. The magazine’s available in the UK in WH Smith and larger supermarkets, and they also publish a digital version.
NEO featured my artwork right at the start of Cakes with Faces, when I was in the “Best of Western Talent” artist showcase section.
The awards recognise readers’ favourite anime, manga, games and films of the year. Voting is open to everyone on the NEO magazine website.
Best Specialist Company
Cakes with Faces is nominated for Best Specialist Company (specialising in cute!). It’s a varied category, and we’re up against our friends (and former winners) JPU Records and Genki Gear, as well as Chameleon Pens, board games distributor Esdevium/Bushiroad (I have a few of their games on my shelf) and tour operators Japan Journeys.
It’s actually Cakes with Faces’ 6th nomination – could it be 6th time lucky???
