Royal Mail Strikes 2022 – Please Order Early for Christmas

There are a number of Royal Mail strike days coming up around Black Friday 2022.

All orders (UK and international) are sent by Royal Mail, so please allow extra time for your orders to arrive in case of delays.

Strike Days

  • Thursday 24th November 2022
  • Friday 25th November 2022
  • Wednesday 30th November 2022
  • Thursday 1st December 2022
  • Friday 9th December 2022
  • Sunday 11th December 2022
  • Wednesday 14th December 2022
  • Thursday 15th December 2022
  • Friday 23rd December 2022
  • Saturday 24th December 2022

There are often delays around Black Friday as it’s such a busy time for the mail, and this year the strikes will cause longer backlogs. Please order early to allow extra time for gifts to arrive.

Orders will be despatched on strike days

Following advice from the Post Office, orders will still be despatched during strike days (the Post Office prefers to process them and have them ready to go). However they may take longer than usual to be delievered.

As usual, all orders are despatched within 1 working day. If you order in the morning, it’ll usually be sent the same day.

Please order early for Christmas

This year more than ever, please please order Christmas gifts early to make sure you get your items on time.

The mail is extremely busy during the Christmas period and there are usually delays, even on a normal year. Especially around Black Friday at the end of November, there are often long delays.

This year it’s likely that delivery will take longer than normal. The best way to avoid this is to order early for Christmas.

Why not use an alternative to Royal Mail?

I’ve looked into alternatives to Royal Mail, and due to the small size and weight of the parcels, the only cost-effective alternatives are Evri and Yodel. However they don’t have the best reputation, so I’ve decided to stick with Royal Mail and continue supporting the local Post Office.

If you’d prefer your order to be sent by Evri or Yodel (UK orders only), please send me a message.

It’s also possible to upgrade to Royal Mail Special Delivery, which will be prioritised during the strikes – however as this costs more there will be a supplement to cover the cost (contact us to arrange).
